Better than most guitars in the $1,000 price range
This isn't my first guitar. My first nice guitar was a PRS SE Custom 22. I love that thing. Despite how nice that is, this Epiphone has found its way into my rotation of axes. The pickups bite really hard and are great for hard rock and metal. The clean tones aren't bad, but they aren't great. The neck is smooth, and it's really easy to move your hands and fingers along the fretboard. The controls are simple, one volume, one tone and a three-way pickup switch. If I were a beginner buying my first guitar, this would be it. Even if you're an experienced player, you'll love this thing. I've compared it to other guitars in the $500-$1,000 price range, and it blows most of them away in terms of playability and sound. Hell, it even looks cooler than most guitars out there, especially in blue! The only real downside is the tuners. They flat out suck. I got Grovers to to replace them, and this baby is better than ever. Also, I upgraded to trapezoid inlays, making her especially beautiful and unique. Buy it. You won't regret it.

Great Guitar at a good price.
Guitar was set up perfectly when I got it (at least mine was) Neck was perfectly straight, so straight that I was able to lower the string action down to crazy lows. I quit playing guitar 40 years ago, but I decided that it was now or never, to start again. This guitar is more than a beginner guitar. It's good enough to use in gigs. If you need an amp to go along with this, I recommend the Fender Mustang V2. I hate to admit it , but it's a "smart amp" and smarter than me. (the amp can emulate all sorts of different tube amps, with effects)...(and you can hook it up to your computer.)
