Thoth: The History of the Ancient Egyptian God of Wisdom

Easy reading for egyptologists, nice for kemetics too
This book is nice and not as dry as “egyptology classics” P.Boylan’s "Thoth, the Hermes of Egypt" book. However I’d prefer it to be better illustrated (the text refers to many stelae, statues, amulets, temples etc., but only illustrations are few line drawings of Djehuty in his ibis-headed and baboon forms… and that’s all). The author is not an egyptologist, but the book looks like a result of fine and careful research. But generally, the book is a big list of quotes and deity epithets, gently weaved together in the fabric of words. Each epiteth gives you something to meditate on.This book is good for a modern esotericists and kemeticists who would like to have more connection with Djehuty. But in the eyes of egyptologist, I guess, this book would be just an easy home-reading for students; all texts quoted there are given only in english translations from a range of sources, and I definitely missed the hieroglyphics (Boylan’s book was full of it). It’s easy and pleasant reading anyway.

Excellent!
The absolute most thorough book I've read on Thoth to date. The author does a fantastic job of explaining just who he was & what his purpose was during ancient Egyptian times. Easy to read + lots of references for future research.

Academic but not intimidating
Though this book is academic in its approach to the rich history of this deity, the language is still approachable. I wish I could get it in print for my reference bookshelf!

Fantastic Book
I wanted to learn about Tehuti (Thoth) and this book gave me it all. Not only did it go into the History but also his followers techniques. An amazing read and well worth the price!

Ancient Egyptian Philosophy
Lesley Jackson has studied Thoth in great depth. Her book reveals to the reader details which would take many hours of painstaking sifting through the available literature to find, and yet it is written in an easy and understandable style. In addition she has opened up the 'inner' aspects of the subject as well as the 'outer'. I would recommend this book to any serious student of Ancient Egyptian Culture.

A "must have" companion for anyone interested in understanding ancient Egyptian esoterica or pre-biblical texts.
Lesley Jackson has done very thorough research into Thoth. I have been reading this book in connection with EA Budge's writings on ancient Egypt, and Stephen Skinner's book on Grecco-Egyptian Magic. Lesley lays out the known facts in a clear and comprehensible manner, which acts like a beacon of light shining into this great human era lost to the darkness of history forgotten.

Peering deep into the heart of our Milky Way galaxy, NASA's Hubble Space Telescope reveals a rich tapestry of more than half a million stars. Except for a few blue, foreground stars, the stars are part of the Milky Way's nuclear star cluster, the most massive and densest star cluster in our galaxy. So packed with stars, it is equivalent to having a million suns crammed into the volume of space between us and our closest stellar neighbor, Alpha Centauri, 4.3 light-years away. At the very hub of our galaxy, this star cluster surrounds the Milky Way's central supermassive black hole, which is about 4 million times the mass of our sun.
