So far so good......
So I have set up the garden as yon can see and couple of things I really like:1. Easy set up - took about 30 minutes from opening box to planting seeds to filling with water.2. Light on top is very flexible and can be directed to the pots you want to focus on.3. Pump is relatively quiet and not really a disturbance when it is on which is a pretty short amount of time.As you can see I am already getting some sprouts. Some suggestions: 1. You really should make your directions a bit clearer as they were a little bit hard to follow especially when it came to putting in the cotton wick.2. Put some moss at the bottom of the pot before you put your growing material (i.e dirt) so it doesn’t fall into the water compartment.Happy growing!!!!!

Messy/Poor Lighting
The single light is not big enough to provide light to plants on the bottom row; this seems to be in part due to the angle at which the pots are tilted. The pump stopped working after two weeks and the grow media (tried using various kinds) falls out and goes everywhere because of how the pots are tilted. Even if the pots are only half full of grow media, the media still falls out. The plants fall out if the pots are not full of media. I threw this away after a few months of usage because the mess was not worth it.

Great planter
The self-watering planter was very easy to setup, no assembly needed. The included USB cord is long so it was easy to find a good spot for it..I like that you can control how often the plants are watered and how many hours per day the LED light is on.The planter has 8 pots that I am going to use for flowers and to grow some fresh kitchen greens.Since I live in a small apartment, I didn’t think I could grow much. However, this vertical planter with 8 pots has given me ample space to garden. It looks very nice in the living room too.

Works well, I would buy another
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. For some reason the first day I set it up the pump just made a hum noise but didn't pump any water. I turned it off and back on the next day and it works great. It seems that the light works just fine for medium light plants. I've got some ivy, peppermint, and lavender in there that I bought as small plants from the store and they are doing just fine. Overall it looks nice and works fine. Im going to gift one to my mom. I don't get a lot of sun light in my town home, so this gives me a way to have plants indoors

Defective out of box
I was extremely excited to finally set this item up. I had purchased it for myself for mothers day and was waiting until the kitchen remodel was complete to finally take it out of the box. Last weekend, with anticipation, I removed it from the box. I carefully followed the instructions, planted my new spice seeds and plugged it up. Only it didn't work. Instead, I soon learned that the plug assembly inside of the machine is either loose or broken and I have wasted over a hundred dollars on a defective item. I had waited too long to open it now and I cannot even return the item. However, I really had been looking forward to growing my own herbs in my new kitchen...

Doesn’t work very well
It doesn’t work very well. I planted some herbs in it, and it never really got on a good times schedule for the light and watering. The light wasn’t strong enough for the plants and it kept resetting the timer. It is also extremely sensitive to having any soil in the water section, yet it is really difficult to clean out as well. I wouldn’t buy it again.

Very Noisy
the micro switches to activate the light and pump can actually be turned on and off by the plants themselves if they move at all. trying to trim the herbs I have in the bottom row kept turning the light and the pump on and off. When the pump is on the sound of the water falling through the holes in the tray is very loud. simple solution would have been a piece of plastic tubing to direct the water to the next tray.

Good at killing plants
I have tried multiple plants/herbs i have moved this around the house and everything ends up dead, the light is a regular LED which typically does not emit proper lighting for a plant to feed off of. Second, even set on the lightest watering setting the soil is completely saturated over watering the plants. Third the timer is never correct set it for 12hrs it goes off 15 hrs later comes back on after about 6 hours and so on.
