Excellent casserole
I have a smaller Chasseur which I have used for years. This larger one is ideal for larger recipes, especially Beef Borgignon. This like many other Ragus, Stews etc have tendency to stick and are messy to clean up on some casseroles, even the more expensive brands.I find Chasseur to be excellent for stove to oven cooking, and most importantly easy to clean- even after cooking Black turtle bean recipes that are notorious for cleaning after cooking.

Great product at sensible price
Lovely product and half the price of certain other makes with no noticeable reduction in quality.

No longer worth the money
I bought this product's older model a few years ago and they are worth every penny - absolutely stonking. This is supposed to be the same, but it just isn't. The old model was much more solid - and oddly, this one fits inside the old model despite being the same size ... go figure? Feels like it isn't of the same quality, and you can buy better at your local supermarket for less money.

Poor interior coating makes this pan a poor replacement for the old model.
I purchased this 26cm pan after having used a 22cm Chasseur round Casserole pan since around 2006. My existing pan has been used a great deal and has been a superb purchase – it has a wonderfully even heat distribution and a surface to which nothing seems to stick! The first thing I noticed with the new 26cm pan is that Chasseur have changed the design of the interior coating. The advert describes it as 'double enamelled for extra durability. A black primer enamel seals the cast iron while a bright secondary enamel gives both an attractive appearance and an easy clean surface.'Firstly, there is nothing bright about the second coating – it’s black! The reality is that the coating is very coarse - almost as though they stopped after applying the black primer. Having used it a few times, after leaving food to simmer for anything longer than around 15 mins, the food starts to catch on the surface. This is not a lot of use if you are making a casserole or slow cooking anything. This has never happened to my 11 year old pan, even after all the use it has had. Also, after washing the pan, there were visible marks on the surface. These were not scratches (I only use a silicon spatula) but more like a result of the coating degrading. After each subsequent use, this just got worse each time.I was annoyed about this since I had gotten rid of the packaging and assumed I would just have to put it down to a mistake on my part. However, having contacted Amazon by phone, I was pleasantly surprised that I was offered the choice of a replacement or a refund – I decided on the refund since I really didn’t have any confidence in a replacement being any different. The member of staff was also very helpful and apologetic about the problems with the pan.Chasseur – please go back to making these pans the way you used to!So a 1* rating for the pan but a 5* rating for Amazon.
