Sensitive and interesting
Citrus plays the two sides of the romance coin very well. It's emotionally sensitive and satisfying and also creates intense sexual tension without making it seem too forced. The characters are dynamic and entertaining, and there are several gratifying surprises and twists in the story. The only qualm I have with this story is its lack of recognition for the social repercussions of a lesbian relationship, particularly in this setting and with the two main characters being stepsisters. Regardless of this, I found the series so far to be very gripping, and I'm excited for the release of the next volume.

Captivating, touching, and beautiful story.
Beautiful story and great manga. This is my first yuri manga and it was beyond my expectations. The story is told from Yuzu's point of view (blond girl in the cover) and it's just very interesting and captivating to see the plot unfolds. There are many characters with unique personalities that make the story dynamic and entertaining. It's a love story but it doesn't fall into a cringy or eye-rolling romance... it is instead a very heartwarming and cute romance. As a plus, there are many funny moments!Yuzu is a teenager and I just love the fact that everything that goes through her mind... her feelings, fears, and doubts are things you can relate to or have experienced before, which makes the story more real. You should definitely check it out. Something great about the narrative is that if you get to volume 7 and then start over again from volume 1, you can see Mei's actions (black-haired girl in cover) from a different light, which damn... it's like you are reading a different story. That's just gold.

Absolutely worth it!
This is such an amazingly good story. I never, ever read anything, but these volumes have somehow gotten me to reading a full one each night. After watching the anime I just felt unfulfilled with it, but was wanting more, so decided to pick up the manga. 100% glad I did, it’s not only what I wanted but much more.Volumes 1-4 cover the anime, but with a bit extra. After 4 it’s just even better and doesn’t stop.

Dent cover...not cool.
The book itself is great. HOWEVER whoever handled packaging and shipping screwed up. My cover is has a dent in it. When I buy a new book I expect it to be...well new, clean cover, clean pages, all that stuff. Really screwed up here.

Citrus Vol. 1
The title "Citrus" wasn't particularly meaningful, and it took me quite a while to decide to give it a try. This is my first yuri manga. The story is pretty interesting, enough for me to go on to Vol. 2 and eventually buy the entire series. I like Yuzu's character and personality. The artwork is also beautiful. (If a manga has a good plot but poor artwork, I most likely would not continue reading.)

Start of a Crazy Affair
This is the very first yuri manga series I'm reading. What caught my attention was the cover art and the rest of the book does not fail to do justice on it. Within the first volume, we get into the waters pretty quickly. We get a good background of Yuzu and a little bit, yet a good amount, of what Mei is like. It's a decent setup of an affair; two characters who are polar opposites. What's more interesting are the factors being played between their relationship. Is their relationship possible? What will those who care for them think? In my opinion, the two main characters are enjoyable. Yuzu is cheerful and comedic while Mei is serious and cool. These character-types are common in anime/manga, so it's easy for me to settle in. But the fact this story revolves around forbidden love makes it fresh. Already a great start! Can't wait for the next!

This is a series that I never expected to enjoy, but cannot put down
Art and character design drew me into this series. However, I keep reading because of the lovable and interesting characters (especially Yuzu and Harumin). This is a series that I never expected to enjoy, but cannot put down. It's unexpectedly sweet and if any of what I've said or its description sounds appealing then I recommend it. I typically read ecchi, comedy, romance, and some isekai manga; so I feel like Citrus has something even for those who do not typically read yuri.

A romantic drama between two unlikely characters
Citrus isn't a story for everyone. It's melodramatic, has a quite outlandish premise and deals with subject matter that can generously be described as "challenging". However, I firmly believe that this manga is worth your time because it's a gripping and heartfelt story of a romance that breaks all kinds of taboos. The story is of Yuzu, a headstrong fashionista and Mei, the uptight and reticent student council president. These two are polar opposites and after a series of fiery encounters at school, they find out they are new step-sisters and will be living with each other! (Please refer to my earlier comment about the outlandish premise). However, it soon becomes apparent that the ice-cold exterior of Mei hides a vulnerable and troubled character. Yuzu's attempts to reach out to her new sister spark a series of events that threaten to send their volatile relationship down a completely different path: a path of love.Volume one is the first in a series of volumes of the Citrus manga, which is still ongoing at the time of writing this review. This series is rich in drama that will keep you turning the pages in a bid to find out what happens next. I cannot promise that everyone will enjoy the story, but those that do will find themselves engrossed in this compelling tale.

Kinky & Affecting...
Saburouta's beautifully-drawn and subtly erotic tale of forbidden yuri passion not only titillates, but also packs a surprisingly powerful emotional wallop. Aihara Yuzu - arguably the feistiest heroine this side of Mary Jane Watson - finds her world jolted when, on the first day at her new school, she is smacked down hard by the icy student council president, Mei. She gets jolted even further when she arrives home to discover that, thanks to her mother's remarriage, Mei is now her stepsister. And when Mei kisses her out of the blue, it sets Yuzu on an emotional rollercoaster from which she may never recover. Okay, so the story is downright implausible, but Yuzu is the sort of spunky, indomitable character that you can't resist, and Mei shows just enough vulnerability to keep things interesting. Sexy, funny and frequently downright moving, 'Citrus' is damn-near perfect manga - highly recommended.
