Acer Aspire 5 A515-54G 15.6-inch Laptop - (Intel Core i5-8265U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce MX250, Full HD Display, Windows 10, Silver)

I've used this laptop for a few months now. It came with a faulty camera which I had to send it back to get repaired. Other than that, this laptop has been very good.Advantages:- Care and attention has been put into making the screen as big as possible for the laptop size. And they've managed to fit in a number pad on the keyboard which comes in handy.- The keyboard feels decent.. It's not perfect (eg it's not backlit), but feels good when typing on it. If you don't like having to press the Fn key to press F keys instead of media buttons, then there's a BIOS setting to switch this behaviour around.- Large SSD drive. You get the speed of an SSD but still get a lot of storage.- Several USB ports (one USB-C port), ethernet portDownsides:- battery life isn't as long as I'd like, but it's still several solid hours. So this isn't so much of an issue.- Camera is bad. But then again, how often do you use the camera?- Camera doesn't come with a privacy shutter, but does have a green LED next to it that comes on when it's in use.All in all, this laptop is reliable, fast and is a good one to buy.

This laptop was bought under the pretence that it had a back-lit keyboard, which it does not.The description and pictures have since been updated to reflect this, as before the pictures clearly showed a laptop with a back-lit keyboard.Despite this, the laptop is quick and the screen is clear and bright. The camera isn't the best quality but its perfectly fine for video calling.The battery is the best feature of this, as it lasts for hours. I usually get around 5-6+ hours of constant use which is great when you are using it on the go. It does charge quite slowly though.Good quality laptop for the price.

Bought to replace a Toshiba (my second Tosh) that disintegrated around the hinges.My choice was between the Asos and Acer. Eventually went for the Acer and so far, pleased with my choice. Boots up very quickly, the finger tip ID generally recognises my finger, the 512GB storage is JUST enough, for my work and music but hasn't enough space for anything else so videos that were on the 1TB Tosh are now on an external HD. If you are buying a new lap top buy at least a 512GB SSD , the 256 and even worse the 128 will probably restrict you.Screen seems decent and sound from the speakers acceptable (better than the Tosh) but I tend to use an external Bluetooth speaker..

Home use, but extremely disappointed at the lack of backlit keyboard since this was one of the deciding factors when ordering.Had this been made clear during the ordering process i would have selected another model.In general though the laptop performs well, but product info could be greatly improved by more transparency in included features. Misleading advertising, but I note that this has now been altered - after sale!!!

It's an okay product. Nothing particularly outstanding in my view. The screen is average, poor colour depth and looks a bit washed out and pale. You can get it a lot cheaper than Amazon is charging. It's a little disappointing and I think for the price you can probably do better.

Very long battery life. I really am pleased with this laptop. Be aware it doesn't have a DVD/DVDR optical drive or a SD card slot but just the expected USB and HDMI ports.Performance wise a great machine to have and the fast boot up/ Boot down time is a pleasure , never do I feel I have to wait for any apps to open or run. The screen isn't as good as some other machines I have seen but this wasn't anything that I have found an issue or worried about..

A nice machine which does all that I want. Boots up fast and silently. Operation is faster than I expected. Great value for money. The only proviso I have is that it's a bit sensitive to movement of hand/mouse sometimes giving unintended results.

Been using for a few weeks now and have no complaints.The battery life is good, and it's been fast and reliable.If you use your laptop for simple things like email, internet and Microsoft Office then it's good.
