Innovative and well-designed
I received this holster 2 days ago and was immediately impressed. Having searched in vain to find an all-kydex holster for my 2" SP101, I happened upon this solution, which caught my eye. I use both kydex and leather holsters for my other guns, and this one is the best of both worlds. The kydex portion is perfectly molded for the SP101, and the backing is a nice, thick piece of cowhide. You will have to put your gun in the holster and keep it in the safe overnight for a couple of days for the leather to break in to the shape of the SP101. The clip design aids in distributing the weight and stabilizing the SP101 "tank", (the 2.25" variety weighing in at 26 ounces, unloaded). When I'm wearing this, I don't feel like I have the heavy hunk of steel that is the SP101 pulling my pants down. Refer to my picture to see how it sits on my Bianchi belt, which happens to be a little thicker than most. Speaking of the belt, the clip just fits (securely) over my 1.5" belt. Any bigger belt size, and you'll probably be SOL. I will say that the clip design makes the whole rig a little wide, IWB. Hence, the reason for only 4 stars. Luckily, I've been working out, so most of my jeans are at least a size too big. In my pics, you can see how it sits and conceals at my regular, 4-5 o'clock position. The "before" is with my shirt lifted (pardon my back), and the after is with a t-shirt over over it for comparison. Us skinny guys need holsters to keep the gun close to our bodies, and this one does exactly that. It will print a little, but not enough to send the anti-gun folks screaming or frantically start dialing 911. The price is right, considering the craftsmanship that went into it, which is refreshing. Too many holsters are over-priced these days. I would recommend.

Rides low, but good holster
I've used a few different CCW holsters for my 3" Springfield XDS 9mm. So far this one is my favorite, although it could still be better. I've used other hybrid holsters like the Alien ones with two clips - I wanted to like it, but it was just too big and awkward to put on and take off every day, especially several times a day, and ESPECIALLY in the restroom. This one is way more compact and slips in and out with very little effort. You'll still most likely want to get the next size bigger pants, or do what I did and get a few pairs of expandable waist chinos so the same pants work whether you're carrying or not. The single clip keeps it in place well - wear a 1.5" rigid web belt or something similar. The leather is fairly comfortable and covers the gun metal well. For me, and at least with the XDS, the gun rides a little lower than I would prefer. This all depends on how you plan to carry and your body shape. I'm 6', 190, size 34 waist. I mostly appendix carry. When your gun rides low, it makes it harder to get a good positive grip on your draw. I like to really be able to get my thumb behind the grip and my non-trigger fingers where they belong on the grip BEFORE I draw. If you cant, you sort of have to pinch the grip in the web of your thumb and reposition your fingers as you draw. Not the biggest deal in the world but worth considering. Either way for the price, not a bad holster. I just wish my XDS rode .5" higher.

Good for now but reserving judgment till I can give it a full break in
So your after a good rig for the R51 well for right now this is it. Now gun holsters are a very personal thing and some like them some don't but they are there. I purchased an R51 back in August of now last year ( although I've only had the gun for 5 months) I got it to IWB carry it because I needed to consider concealibility first. To do this I needed an IWB holster and I found it here, I had an OWB from another company and I liked it but it dosent conceal as well. I had heard of outlaw holsters so I felt it was worth a try and I've had it on for a few hours and it's not uncomfortable I can say that. (And most IWB rigs cause me intestinal distress) so right now I can't find anything I don't like save for not having a horsehide option ( horse leather is very dense and sweat resistant ) but the leather on this rig is tanned on both sides ( which many IWB holsters do not do) and I think the tanning will give the leather a better chance to repel moisture ( if not I can make a DIY moisture barrier) the kydex is well formed and surprisingly thick. Your not going to get any type of click when you draw and I don't know about finish wear as my R51 already has some carry wear ( and I'm perfect fine with some use wear cause that's why I bought it) the clip is thick and it stays put ( but it's the same material as the holster. It's still brand new and I tend to reserve judgement till I use a holster for a while. I'll get a better idea of how it wears after a week of wearing it out and about (I can sweat a lot even in winter and that will give me a solid indicator. So for now it's good but I won't know till I really run it hard. Oh almost forgot the single clip and slim profile is more comfortable then some IWB setups with huge 12 inch wingspans here's hoping.
