Arrived unbelievably fast , placed the order and it turned up the following afternoon. Purchased solely on the basis of reading other purchasers reviews on Amazon. Popped in a battery and away it went vibrating and bleeping straight away seeking out anything of metal close by. This is extremely easy to use. My grandson has already found in excess of twenty pounds sterling and some gold bullion while metal detecting and pin pointing with this device.I'll update this short review should anything bad occur with the pointer.... saying that it does feel solidly made. The supplied lanyard will remain in the box as I feel this Will get in the way and be more annoying than anything useful. If you're capable of loosing and item of this size then you probably shouldn't be out doors unaccompanied.

I couldn't help but wonder why the big difference in price with some of the pin pointers. Not wanting to spend more than necessary, I plumped for this one. Can't say I've had any real issues with it other than possibly the distance it detects metal may be reason why others are higher priced. Watching some videos, some of the more expensive pin pointers are giving signals from a decent distance away - I've noticed that this one tends to have to be that bit closer to the target before it will give a signal. Will I upgrade to one of the higher priced ones? Possibly, but not yet as, for the money, this one is perfectly fit for my purpose just now.If you go for a pin pointer, get the protective tips for it - especially if it's one of the more expensive pin pointers.

It’s not as good as a top end model, as you’d expect, but it’s better than the many cheap ones on amazon. It has a decent range which is ample to get you in the ballpark of the target, but unfortunately gives the same feedback whether you’re touching it or up to a few CM away. This is fine for most targets, but makes locating very small items a pain.The way I deal with that is by also taking along one of the dirt cheap pinpointers available on here that only detects a small target when you’re practically touching it. It’s next to useless on its own, but by using both, I have the functionality of a high end pinpointer at half the cost.
