A Receptacle for the "Receptacle"
As others have pointed out, this receptacle is anything but "Heavy Duty". The contact springs are very thin gauge metal. I found that there was almost no friction to hold a plug in - my 3 prong plugs just fell out, even after I took the receptacle apart and bent the contact springs for a tighter grip. I would worry about using it for more than a couple of amps, given the poor contact pressure. Also, the contacts don't line up well with the blade slots in the plastic body.I waited a couple of months before attempting to install the receptacle, and used it pretty hard trying to make it work, so did not try to return it. I found it unusable, however, and would not recommend it for anything but the lightest temporary duty.

nose and lung irritating smoke but not blowing a fuse till it shorted out all connections by becoming a highly conductive solid
I Wired it properly but i think the the odd plastic structuring that the wire screws are mounted on inside shrinks and expands with the slightest variation in temperature..After about two weeks i was awakened by sparks , popping noises and the stench of a burnt rubber/plastic black smoke that had filled my room...It finally blew a fuse as i was making my way to trip the power breaker to head off a potential fire...It was shorting out just enough to vulcanize the entire plug and throw out eye ,nose and lung irritating smoke but not blowing a fuse till it shorted out all connections by becoming a highly conductive solid piece of carbon composite that would have all our Super Conductor manufacturers clambering to secure manufacturing patent rights to...lol...

Heavy Duty 3 Wire Female
Difficult to attach wires. The 3 screws into "rubber" shell do not provide secure fastening. Vague keying to assemble properly. Overall very poor quality. Definitely not "Heavy Duty". No Brass/White/Green screw heads to identify Hot, Neutral and Ground. (You can connect the hot wire to the smaller flat blade but it is not "identified").I would not order again..

It's an electrical socket for 5$
While a bit expensive, this is the perfect solution for connecting heavy switched power supplies with a US plug to an EU socket. Obviously it also requires a EU plug but we have plenty of those here. I made it into a EU-US extension cord. Since not all US electrical devices can work with 220v, it should obviously be tested first. The only con this thing has is the wire holding thingamajig at its back. It is not snug enough to firmly grab a standard power cable (about 8mm diameter). I had to reverse one of the brackets and crush the black rubber part against the power cable. Not sure what kind of monster wire this thing is designed for.

horrible to connect
Wiring this thing is tedious [to put it politely]. You may have saved a few pennies on this "bargain" item...but, you will waste $50 worth of time and $1000 worth of patience. It's not UL approved...or approvable. It can pull apart when unplugging because the screws don't hold it together...an invitation to a short or fire. This plug gets the booby prize for design and quality. Amazon would be wise to NOT sell anything this bad.

A fair replacment, less than what I expected for $7
I an not an electrician, and this plug came with no instructions! It was just in a plastic bag, not even a package with pictures on it. I figured I would have to take it apart before I could attach my electric cord. I had to guess witch of the three prongs I connected the 3 wires to, I got it all back together -> tested -> saw I had made the wrong guess. I found a YouTube video on how to fix an extension cord so I took it apart and did it correctly and it worked fine, but I wasted 20 mid doing it wrong in the first place

It was my fault
What did I think I was going to get for $3.99? I have replaced many ends and made many extension cords over the years. I have yet to see a plug this cheap. After opening it and seeing how cheap it was I threw it away. The good reviews must have come from people who don't have a clue or employees of the distributor. .

Don't waste time or money on these
one month later, each and every one is broken. Nearly burned down my shop after one broke internally, and shorted the cord on cardboard. Don't waste time or money on these. They're junk.
