This cable with swivel hook is massively strong and surprisingly heavy, much stronger and heavier than I expected or needed. However, after adding a separately purchased cable U-clamp, it performed as desired, pulling our boat lift in to shore behind our vehicle over a shallow but uneven lake bed. 3/8" sounds small, but I probably could have used 1/4" or even 3/16". If you have something really heavy to tow, this will work great!

the main photo shows an all red sturdy looking hook ,only if i'd looked further i would of went to a different seller ,of course the hook i got was the flimsy spring loaded piece of garbage that maingeled up and got in the way after first use ,tricked again

3/8 cable is pretty well established.However due the possibilty of rusting it was overly greased
