Learn to use it
I like this but please look online at videos of where to do the stab before you attempt it or you will have a very unhappy fish on your hands.

nail with handle
Have not used yet but how much is there to it?Im pretty sure the spike is just a nail with a handle molded around it. Its not very sharp and it does not appear to run through the length of the handle. Ill most likely make my own when this breaks.Will it work? yesWill it rust? yesWill it last a year? probably not

Great ike jime (a Japanese term, google it please) spike. I would have liked the spike to be made from stainless steel, but heck for the price high tensile steel will do. Just make sure to rinse and oil at the end of each fishing session.

its ok, don't really need this, just use a fixed blade sturdy knife

Successful Spiking
In the initial brain spiking stage of the ike jime process, this spike served its purpose well on Lake Michigan whitefish. Satisfied with the price point and functionality.

Breaks
Fish really does taste better when Ike jime is done but unit fragile as spike does not run through handle like a good knife and broke on third use

Wow, this thing will Iki Jaws. Really, it's way over the top, you could spike an 8 foot gator gar with this thing.

Excellent, but needs lanyard hole
Nice quality and strength, and will do the job. Removed one star because I had to drill my own lanyard hole.
