does what it's supposed to a thin coating of this stuff made the coating shrivel up and peal off

1 star for on time delivery. Everything else about this product is Cr@p. It just doesn't remove any layers of your typical green conformal PCB coatings. You might as well just scrap it off very gently with a sharp pointed exacto knife. If this was just a bad batch,,,, than shame on you MG Chemical Quality Control Department!! I followed all the instructions and ended up with a bunch of waited time and through put!! Hope this helps.

I used it on a 1990s era circuit board to remove what I assume to be a lacquer based coating. With this I removed it all in 5 minutes while a heat gun only burned it and heated the board to ridiculous levels. I used 99% rubbing alcohol afterwards to clean the board as the box nor the website says what to do after removing the coating.Overall, I give it 9/10!

This works great for removing conformal coating from a PCB. It does not work well at removing (green, or any other color) solder mask as another reviewer was attempting. Ignore the 1-star review where the reviewer confused the two different materials.
