GlobalPioneer Mosin Nagant Sling 91/30

I purchased this for my M44 Carbine so keep in mind the shorter length. It works perfectly as a sling and is simple to adjust. It maintains the aesthetic that you are likely looking for when using and maintaining historic firearms for modern use.

Reason for Purchase:customization and convenience on a type 53 mosin nagant carbine.PROS: the sling itself is like a really durable canvas material. the dog collars are soft but leathery so they are a little more questionable, the buckles on the collars seem to be decent, and overall its a strap that would last quite a while. the collars fit snug with little room for spinning on you.CONS: length. there is really no way to adjust this thing. you have to take it apart so that it is as long as it can possibly be and then it fits okay, it may not fit well for someone of a small stature but even myself at 6 foot 250lbs would like a little room for tightening my sling.Overall: to be perfectly honest, if you aren't sure, and you aren't some tiny little girl, go ahead and pick this up, after all is said and done, its better than having nothing.

The leather is very poor quality and I don't expect it to last very long. The leather also wasn't the correct size for the slots in a Mosin 91/30. They are too wide and had to be trimmed to get them through.Extended to full length, the sling is also too short. When placed over my shoulder the rifle presses hard into my back.I'm keeping it because it may come in handy for something else but I'll buy a better sling for the Mosin at a gun show in a couple of weeks.

The sling is first quality. Good leather and hardware on the stock attachment points. The cloth sling web material is very robust.This fits my Mozin Nagant M44 perfectly. If you are a sport shooter and looking for a sling for your Mozin Nagant, this is the one to get. It is new, well made and priced very attractively. Note that this sling is designed to be used specifically on Mozin Nagant firearms and is made to fit the through the stock slits on the forearm and the the butt stock. Although my M44 is a carbine, there is plenty of web sling to be adjusted for the longer versions of the Mozin Nagant rifle. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

The web sling length is adjustable and isn't the problem. The reason it doesn't fit is due to the leather attachment strap construction. The leather straps won't fit completely into the rifle slots on the slot in the Mosin Nagant.The reason is that the leather that is wrapped around the small metal buckles, and secured together with rivets, is too thick. The leather straps won't go into the rifle slots passed the point where they are riveted.This prevents the web sling from fitting properly causing the point where it secures to the straps to ride up near the buckle. The slings are supposed to hang somewhat loosely , not be snug up against the side of the stockTo fix the problem I attached the AIM sling using original Russian surplus leather straps (not provided by AIM).

I received this sling from Outdoor Bunker FAST!...Inside of 3 days. Quality is excellent. The sling is heavy canvas GI type belting and the leather belt type swivels were made of at least 6 oz leather. (6/64" in crafter speak.) Plenty strong for the purpose. The buckles are chrome plated steel, heavy roller type so cinching the swivel is made easy. I did have to whittle down the belt for the butt end swivel opening but I also found that an obstruction of built up gunk inside made a file job necessary. The sling was just right. Used this on my Mosin M44. I am going for a classic look but keeping it as cheap as possible. This sling works well. the connections that run through to stock were a bit of a tight fit. That is to be expected, so what I did was grab some needle nose pliers, used a rag to keep from damaging the fake leather connections, and threaded it through bit by bit. Now it fits well and does not disengage when firing. Holds the weight well. I would recommend this for anyone looking to get a generic sling for their original Mosin stock either m44 or 9130. (Note! I also use the Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad [small size] and it works perfectly in tangent with this sling.)

Got this for my Chinese type 53 (a carbine that looks like it was used as a hammer to pound in some nails) to make it a more complete piece of history. Naturally, I knew that this was a reproduction, I was just looking for something that would hold up well and look the part, so it wasn't too surprising when it came out of the bag in a pristine, beautiful condition. The leather straps are fake (as you should expect) but the strap is heavy duty and works well. My problem with this is that it is in TOO good of shape; it doesn't match the wear and tear of my carbine. My solution: take it into the woods and stomp it into the mud and scrub it with a heavy brush to give it the wear it deserved. All in all, good sling. Glad I bought it.
