AmerTac - Zenith TP1050ULA TP1050ULA 50 FT 4 Wire Round Station Wire, Almond Landline Telephone Accessory Item has Changed from a 6 Wire to 4 Wire Station Wire.

I was looking for a four wire cable to run a phone connection into my kitchen so ordered this cable given the description specifically says "Item has changed from a 6 wire to 4 wire station Station Wire". The exact same statement was on a sticker added on to the product when I received it. Nonetheless, the cable I received had three twisted pairs of wire for a total of six wires. That turned out not to be a problem as I could just use the wires I needed, but it's not good when the description in a listing, especially one that claims to be updated to confirm it matches the item, is totally incorrect.Nothing on the item itself, including the cardboard label attached to the coil of wire, says 6 wire or 4 wire. The part number displayed on that cardboard label is Zenith TP15050ULA, which matches the item listing here on Amazon and on the manufacturer's website. My best guess is that some Amazon inventory with this part number is the older six wire and perhaps some is the newer four wire, but someone (Amazon??) has added the sticker to all inventory items without actually checking the wire itself. If it matters to you whether you get four wire or six, order with care or be prepared to return the item if it's not what you need.All that said, it's fine wire. It worked perfectly for my phone installation. The three twisted pairs of wires inside the outer jacket have the right color coding on their insulation to match standard twisted pair cable. They also appear to be copper 24awg wire, which is what you'd expect. I'm happy with the product overall, but took off one star because what I received didn't match the item listing here or the sticker someone added onto the product.

You wouldn't think wire wouldn't need a review to say it's good, it's wire it. But too often it seems like finding anything well made today can be a challenge. I needed to make a few custom length cords and found this wire pleasant to work with. The jack is soft enough that with a few careful snips of just scissors the jacket tares off with little problem.It was not difficult to get the wires to move in the jacket to put the colors in the order I wanted for insertion into the RJ11 jack for use with a crimp tool, once end trimmed (again scissors) the wires slid into the holes of the RJ11 jack nicely, (RJ11 flush end connectors, not pass through in this case, Platinum tools EZ crimp tool),.The only potential negatives are that at least for my eyes (perhaps due to the lighting I was using) some care must be taken to distinguish the green/white wire from the blue/white wire; and as said the jacket is a fairly soft which makes it great to work with but could be a concern if you have something that likes to chew on wire.For my purposes, should I need more wire I would definitely buy again.

Not the end of the world but a 6 conductor cable is heavier, thicker and a little more difficult to fish than a 4 conductor wire. Also adds unnecessary expense. Works fine though.

I had higher expectations for this product. Expected to get 4 wire, Green, Red, Yellow, Black solid sturdy wire to get my phones working again. Instead this product is 3 twisted pair, blue/white and two other something/white wires. Order said it was changed, which I didn't catch. The problem though is not the colors, I figured that out, the problem is the quality of the actual wire inside. It is flimsy and real thin. Had a hard time getting it to stay in place.It is working, and I already had fished the wire and cut it, so I didn't return it. Expected the wire gauge to be stiffer.When it breaks, and I sure it will, I'll find something else.

Works perfectly and easy to hook up . I had my phone and internet up and going again in a short time .

was able to add a phone jack with this high quality phone wire and being from chicago im very happy to see zenith still exists

This item, as described, was for a almond colored cable, with 4 wires.What I received was a white cable, with 6 wires.If I wanted a 6 wire cable, this would be fine, but it is not what I wanted.
