Yum
I love black licorice first off. The brand I usually get was sold out and I found this one and it was less expensive. I figured why not?I'm glad I did, it is excellent. It looks like they are factory seconds as the size of the wheels differ or have defects but that has no effect on the quality of the licorice. The weight listed is accurate and it tastes delicious. It is also not the soft stuff like the cheep stuff you get at your local store. It is more solid and for the best results pull the wheel apart into a string and it is easer to eat and makes it last longer. I do this with my normal brand also.I highly recommend this, it is equal in quality and taste as the more expensive stuff and to me looks like factory seconds of the high end licorice.

It's the best!!
Great value!! It's exactly the same as some of the more expensive offers here. Higher price doesn't mean better flavor!! They're fresh an amazing flavor!

Defective packaging
The product is good the packaging is not very robust. Twice I have received it with the pagaging split open wheels all over the inside of the box.

Addictive
This licorice is addictive, so good. My husband and I cannot get enough. I think this is our third huge bag.

Fantastic licorice
There are so many varieties of licorice. I had a favorite that was a hemisphere shape stamped with a diamond. Hershey's bought the company that made it and then discontinued it. I've been searching for something comparable for 20vor so years and the closest I came were those black Scotties, but they weren't quite what I wanted. My son bought me this licorice for Christmas and the taste, firmness and texture are perfect for me. I would prefer more of a solid shape rather than the shoelace shape coiled into a wheel, but that was probably asking too much. I love this stuff and the four pound bag is a really great value.

For Gerrit J Verburg Company- TOTALLY HORRIBLE will never buy again- please see details/
I don't normally have a lot of time to write reviews BUT in this case- since I a still fuming over this- I am going to take the time to hopefully let the manufacturer Gerrit J. Verburg Co.know at least. My husband and I are real licorice and Haribo fans and since the Amazon price for Haribo black licorice wheels TRIPLED in just 2 months- and we are on a fixed income- we thought we would try these "lookalikes" It was truly HORRIBLE. I don't think we have had worse in our LIFE and threw the entire lot of two huge bags- bought because of our fixed income and trying to save some money so we can otherwise eat- into the dumpster. Not only did it totally lack any kind of real licorice flavor- it tasted like corn syrup cut with cheap molasses- and adding insult to injury was hard as a ROCK. I would have sent it back but it would have cost me $15 in postage and of course there was no return label. Black licorice is the only candy "luxury" we allow ourselves but it looks like we will be doing without from now on. Come on candy companies- do any of your CEO's even TRY the stuff you put out there as "edible"? Honestly? I don't know if I will ever even try your company again if this is this the type of product you put out. Absolutely disgusting.
