OTRON Premium Garlic Press, Stainless Steel, Garlic Mincer, Professional Heavy Duty, Soft-Handled, Crush Garlic Cloves, Ginger

This garlic press leaves a "ring" around the edge of the garlic where you have to push it into the center and press it again. If you're pressing 10-15 gloves of garlic this adds up over time. For the cost I can't complain but for me, someone who can use a cleaver or a chef's knife with ease for cutting anything, this garlic press is actually slower than just using a knife. If you do not have knife skills this may be a time saver for you.Update: 11-08-2021 I washed this (always hand washed) and noticed something peeling on the inside of the garlic press and noticed some type of coating / metal peeling off. I don't think this is safe any longer to use and I'm not sure why something thinner than foil is lined on the inside of this.

I chose this garlic press because the reviews were so positive and it was much cheaper than the others. We use garlic very frequently when we cook and I was looking for something to replace my (second) Pampered Chef press which has lost its coating from use (again). I am disappointed with this press because a good portion of the garlic escapes around the pressing plate and ends up on top of it, which creates a messy situation trying to get it back under so that it can be pressed through. I will be looking for another press.

Press itself is built solid. However, Garlic sticks to the bottom of this press. You need brush or something else to clean the remaining garlic every time you press.

A Bummer to clean,as the holes become clogged with pulp from the Garlic,if it had a flat press instead of little prongs,like the old fashioned ones it would be much easier to clean.

This is the PERFECT garlic press. Tried two from BB&B and they didn't work. One bent like it was made of plastic (must have been a aluminum look-alike cover over plastic. Tried another one and it was ok, but then this one came in the mail and this one is my favorite. Buy it as a gift for anyone who loves garlic!

Nice design, works well, easy to clean

After 9 months of regular use (not daily), this garlic press still works like a charm. It is not peeling or tranishing and cleans easily. I wonder how I ever went so long without it.

I bought this as a gift to my son, but he wanted my old one instead, but since this one is a review of this item i should not name my old ones brand perhaps.?? Not sure. - I just know I have now bought "my old one" for the second time myself, and it has just improved in construction. I just do not like that it is aluminium, and gets a old look very fast, especially when you put it in the dishwasher.. The Otron has a huge advantage there!! It is Stainless steel! I would say that the stainless steel is a plus, and if you do not wanna do alot of garlic at once it is well designed and keeps from eroding and does not get discoloured. Personally I like it enough to use it regularly.
