I needed a new laptop bag and noticed a lot of people with roll top waterproof bags while visiting Italy. This one is a great every day pack - the roll top keeps everything inside dry. With a big open space inside you may want to consider a separate pack for laptop charger/cables etc. The side pocket for a laptop is super useful and easy to access quickly vs rooting through all the stuff in the main pack.

Great materials and quality. Everything as expected, it’s my first product from Rains and my expectations was filled.

The one thing that bothers me is the lack of pockets for small items. The small pocket in front doesn’t hold much. Unless you’re using packing cubes, the inside pouch isn’t that great for multiple items.Super comfortable to carry around though and durability is great. I get compliments on the appearance and it definitely stays dry and repels the rain so the performance is great.

Roll tops like this have the ability to make a bag submersible. In this case, they're just trying to keep your laptop dry.This bag is what Indiana Jones would have used during his PhD if he was in his 20s in the 2020s instead of the 1920s. The design is simple, it's supposed to be that way. It's not a trapper keeper with built in pencil pouch.Sleek minimalism with modern materials.I appreciate both of the zippered compartments. One long zipper along the side to store your laptop/ipad independently. The other on the back for small items. The main compartment behind the roll top is shaped like a large paper grocery bag.The main standout in design to me is mesh surface that contacts your back vs the usual canvas back of the other Rains backpacks. This is the breathable version.As usual, all the stitching is perfect. The surface is perfect but will get a distressed look over time just like Indy's satchel would have.If you're looking for a sleek and upscale backpack to match to a city commute or wear with a suit, this will do.

This is an AMAZING rucksack! EXCELLENT IN WET WEATHER!! WORTH the price!! You do have color choices! I know this is not much to look at, but, this is what you need if you do not want your stuff to get wet!

RAINS's Waterproof Backpack is very nicely made from high quality materials. The rubberized fabric feels robust and sturdy, but also manages to remain soft, pliable, and rich looking. The back of the bag is finished in a webbed and padded fabric. The zippers are robust and smooth, but take some effort to pull.I used the bag for a recent trip to Alaska - where it typically rains quite a bit. I used it on a plane, a train, a ship, and took it on all my excursions. It accommodated my 3 cameras, headphones, kindle, wallet, car keys, and a light jacket nicely with room to spare. It was comfortable to wear for hours. It kept my items dry white it rained and the metal clasp to close the top was easy to open and close and had a satisfying click.The only critiques I have are as follows: there is no strap on the back of the bag to slip it over the handle of a rolling suitcase, and the bag does not have a zipper on top. The roll over top has some snaps on the corners, but I would have appreciated a zipper on the top.All in all... a great bag.

Excellent materials and quality. Everything was beyond my expectations as this is my first product from Rains. It is minimal in bells and whistles like pockets, loops, and openings. However, there is a great need for more pockets for multiple and smaller items. I suggest using a laptop sleeve for protection and smaller bags for cords, pens, glasses, and other assorted items. It is very comfortable when carrying it around, It is well made and looks great the style and materials are an excellent option to a standard back pack. I get compliments on the appearance and material used to keep things dry, and it does that very well. The material used is quality and durable. However, the matte finish, though cool as cool can be, will scuff and show scratches, but that gives it character. It is excellent in black, but I call it anthracite. (Because the proper name sounds cool.) If you are a student and walk all to school or all over campus, this is a game changer for rainy days.No more wearing your backpack on your front and surrounding it in your coat. This pack is enormous enough to accommodate even a large laptop. The one outer pocket works for keys and a wallet. This bag has a chest strap, which makes it more comfortable to carry for long periods. The shoulder straps are adjustable and well-padded. The two best things about this are that it is comfortable to hold and keeps your stuff nice and dry. It is gender-neutral and would make a handsome and appreciated gift for anyone.
