Great for locking Pelican cases
Great lock, but not high security. Get the ABUS 831C series if you need anything substantial. That said, the narrower shackle fits well into the smaller holes found on Pelican/Storm cases.

This product is excellent and extremely cheap.My only complaint is that the way it is packaged it can easily fall apart prior to putting the core into it. It took me about 30 minutes to figure out how to reassemble it.Chances are if you are purchasing this product, you know enough about locks to reassemble it if necessary.

There are no cylinders that come with this item
No cylinders come with this lock. This is fine if you know something about locks, but not so good if you want a working lock. It says NO core on it to be fair but I would have included a picture of the hollowed out body as well as explicit instructions explaining that you would have to purchase the cylinders separately. So now what do I do? Send them back or try to buy the cylinders separately? Looks like it will add another $10 to the price of the lock... I am displeased with this purchase.

This is not a regular ABUS lock. it uses the BEST Lock SFIC (Small Format Interchangeable Core) cylinders and not a standard one. This only works with BEST cores. If you do not know what BEST SFIC Core is, don't buy it.

Use any SFIC core for a light duty padlock.
Great small and light weight lock for locker or a small tool box. It needs a SFIC core and comes with two adapters for different length core types. 1/4inch shackle diameter.
