These are original OEM, made in Tunisia, and ARE the exact replacement. The reason they're hard to find, is that your typical Volvo owner is not likely to be changing their own oil. Those of us that buy a new car every once in a while, and drive it until the wheels fall off (my last one went 17 years), try to take a little bit better care of the investment. Personally not too crazy about running ANY oil for 10K miles, and with Volvos, the maintenance is included, but only at their intervals....so you end up sourcing items like this one, to enable that service at a much more reasonable 5K. I'm pretty much an evangelist for oil change, because its easy, and even with synthetics, a relatively large bang for the buck. As a mechanical engineer, one with the ability to measure lubricity (especially lubricity at temperature), I can attest that ALL oils break down. The engineers at the car companies are constrained on what they can say on oils, because they employed by a company that is in the business of selling new cars. Talk to a good mechanic that you trust, and do what they do, which is usually NOT buying the nonsense 10 or 20K motor oil, or lifetime transmission oil, or sundry other errors that ultimately sell more cars.Plan on driving this XC60 until the IC engine is outlawed (which could be any day now, here in the USA).I know I sound like a conspiracy theorist, but don't think I am.Last thought, it sure would be nice for K&N to start making this filter.

These are cheap counterfeits of the original Volvo filters. Avoid at all costs. They come in very convincing blue box OEM packaging, but compare it to a known genuine filter from the dealer and the differences will be very clear. It's not worth ruining your engine to save a few bucks.

Perfect fit for my XC60 and knowing that it was a genuine Volvo product was nice knowing that it was meant for the vehicle.

You need a completely different filter for this.
