Think and buy the product
1st time i cooked in vessel got onions and tomatos got burnt. The bottom of the kadai is good but over heated because of that vegies got burnt and ya about size good to cook for 5 members either briyani or sambar works well with size. The kadai needs to cooked with low flame so that veggies do not get burnt. As per my experience either a iron kadai or a granite or mud kadai do not get burnt soon.
