Savox SC-1258TG Super Speed Titanium Gear Standard Digital Servo

Loud and glitchy.
I'm using this in a Team Associated 90010 SC10 4x4 Factory Team Kit , because oddly enough, it fit better than the Team Associated DS1313 Hi Performance Digital Servo  I had lying around, and I wanted to give Savox a try.As far as packaging goes, I was fairly impressed. They pack all sorts of horns and screws that I'll never use, and not one but two sticker sheets. In performance terms, as I was building my kit, there were a few times I needed to test out the servo for fitment. I can absolutely confirm that this servo goes nuts if it doesn't have 6V. Off of four 1.5V AA's pulling just shy of 6V due to age, the servo glitched like mad. But, since connecting it to my Novak 1749 Havoc Pro SC Brushless ESC  with 2S LiPo saddle packs (and no Novak 5626 Glitch Buster Capacitor ) it works just fine.Well... it did. For about ten minutes. Then it started glitching like crazy on a Mamba Max Pro SCT ESC, a Sidewinder V2, and a Havoc Pro SC. So, now the question becomes: "Invest some more money on a glitch buster, or spend a teeny tiny bit more, and just buy a better servo, like the Team Associated 29167 DS1015 Hi Torque/Hi-Speed Digital Servo ?"And... that "just fine" means exactly that. Compared to my DS1313, I have to say that I'm not overly impressed, and it just doesn't hold a candle to the DS1313 in terms of build quality. Since they both cost basically the same and the DS1313 is perfectly happy at 5V, you might want to consider it as an alternative if you're not looking to brag about ~.05 seconds of response time (literally). Or, step up to the DS1015.And holy crap, will this stupid thing not shut up! It buzzes like crazy when my SC10 is on a pit stand! It buzzed a little when I was lining it up, and hadn't even connected it to anything. It might be irrelevant on a track, but it's very, very relevant when you have a wife and kid who don't share your enthusiasm for midnight wrenching.

Faster, stonger, an built to last !!!
My Traxxas 2075 steering server locked up after 12 times of use. (I've only had the Traxxas Stampede 4X4 VXL for 45 days!) I see many individuals in blogs complaining of the same servo problem. This servo is much heftier and better designed and I bought it after reading so many great reviews - as the best replacement for the stock one. There is a better Traxxas servo available (2075X) (with metal gears instead of plastic), but I read mixed reviews on that one as well. This Monster truck is truly incredible, but I think they should consider a DELUXE version with all metal parts, I would buy it at twice the price!!

Great servo with plenty of speed and torque
Incredibly strong and unbelievably fast for a great price. Yes, the SC-1258TG and it's high speed partner, the SC-1257TG, are loud and power hungry, but that's to be expected with 166 ounce inches of torque and .08 second transit times. I've used these as steering and throttle/brake servos in very fast nitro short course trucks and even faster nitro touring cars and on the swashplate of a 600-class flybarless helicopter, all of which are overpowered and highly demanding of the servos, and I have yet to see a Savox go up in smoke or even so much as knock a tooth off one of their titanium gears. Bonus points for the Futaba-compatible 25 tooth output shaft spline which makes the SC-1257TG and SC-1258TG drop-in replacements on many Traxxas vehicles. Make sure your BEC or receiver battery are strong enough, though, as the 1258TG can draw as much as 5 amps if put in a bind.

Great servo at a reasonable price.
I borrowed one of these servos from a friend. Liked it so much I bought one of my own. My first Savox. Best servo I have ever owned. Power, speed and durability all for a reasonable price. I am running it a Mid motor 2wd offroad buggy Hot bodies d216 and it has the power I could ever need and plenty enough speed to keep my car pointed where I want it. Awesome servo.. this may be all I run in my cars and trucks from now on... WOW! it draws some some power, so run a glitch buster/ voltage protector/ RX capacitor if you are having brownout issues.

Traxxas slash!!
**Please read if your buying for a slash**I bought this servo when I stripped out my Traxxas one. What a huge difference it is compared to stock however, the Servo WILL NOT LINE UP with the mount. I had to modify it to make it work but when it did it was totally worth it. Still giving it 5 stars because the Servo itself is incredible

Improved over the original release.
I had to replace the same servo that burnt out after being stuck in a tree for an hour under torque. The newer one seems to have a higher frequency circuit driving the servo, based on the sound it makes when sitting still. I guess they revised the PCB.
