All Metal Construction More Durable than the Plastic it Replaced
The plastic cup holder that was installed by the factory next to the front passenger seat in my motorhome was flimsy enough for my wife to break it after a couple of years. A replacement from a Winnebago dealer would have cost more and would have been made of the same flimsy plastic as the one that was broken. I ordered this metal replacement from Amazon believing that it will be more durable. My order arrived when promised and I found the cup holder to be exactly as it was represented. The functional parts of this cup holder are all metal. There is a thin black foam pad on the bottom that reduces rattling if a glass or other hard container is in the holder while we're traveling on a bumpy road. The width of the plastic coated metal clamp at the top is adjustable to fit and tightly secure most beverage containers. The back mounting plate was the same size as the plastic cup holder it replaced. Rather than use the mounting screws that were included with this cup holder, I used the hardened, self-tapping screws that I removed from the old cup holder because the wall on which this holder is mounted is made of metal. My included photo shows it after installation. I am pleased with my purchase.

Heavy duty, I'll never buy the plastics ones again.

So far so good
I’ve had them installed on my boat for about a month so so far they are holding up to yeti cups, and drunk people on the golf of Mexico

Quality product
This is a very sturdy piece and easy to install. The arms do not expand as much as expected. However we do like the quality of it and it works nicely in the boat as a drink holder that folds away when not in use.

Works great for beer bottles and cans, anything larger is questionable.
The media could not be loaded. This was exactly what I was looking for to add a cupholder to my flight rig. Works on all styles of beer bottles but doesn't work very well with larger water bottles, specifically I tested the camelbak eddy 750ml bottle and it is a very tight fit with the top retaining ring deployed. The two sides of the top retaining ring do open and close to fit different thicknesses but its a struggle to push the water bottle in even fully expanded. It wasn't critical that a water bottle fit in here though, I was more concerned with the build quality and being able to use it without looking at it or struggling every time I want to place a beer in it. Ordering another one for the right side now that I know its decent.

Simple to mount and use
I bought a couple of these, for my aluminum drift boat. I decided to mount them with velcro instead of drilling holes in my boat. They are lite enough to be secured by the velcro, even if they get wet. And they do. They look good. And hold secure. Even with a full drink inside. They fold up, out of they way, when not in use. I have used them for two seasons on the Salmon river. And would highly recommend them.

Stainless Steel vs Plastic
Previously had the plastic version and the bottom broke off. Hopefully the Stainless version will last longer..... On the plus side I didn't have to make any new holes in my boat. The stainless and the plastic version have the same 4 hole mount pattern.

You need three hands for this cup holder
Everyone that says the holder part folds down when you put a drink in it is 100% correct. The design is flawed, but can be helped if you pry out the holder arms and flip them 180° so the square edge faces down like in my pictures, and bend the spring holder parts out a bit. The rounded edges need to be squared for it to work right. $40 for two cup holders, it is a monumental ripoff and as it comes you need three hands to make it work, and even at its widest will only hold a 12oz. (355ml) can
