Q: Can be used for wounds?

Hello Catherine my name is Stuart Cutler I am A Trained St John Amblunce First Aider with plenty of Field experience and i have used saline pods for wounds i think they are a MUST HAVE OBJECT as we were on a large Puiblic Duty (London to Brighton Bikeride) have used them on a number of casultys. They can clean the wound and they can was out eyes the same that a eye wash station pod would in you school work ect. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO SAY THAT I AM ALSO A SCOUT YOUNG LEADER WHO IS THE FIRST AIDER AND THAT ON THE RARE THIME I NEED THEM I FIND THEY ARE GREAT. I hope this is helpful i would buy them you cant go wrong!

Q: Is this preservative free?

I was told by my optician that it was, and this is why I bought it. In the description on the bottle it states, "Sauflon Saline is a Preservative Free isotonic aqueous, buffered sterile saline solution (buffered to ph7) containing up to 0.005% w/v hydrogen peroxide." I use this solution for rinsing but for insertion of the lens I also use Blue Dot sterile 0.9% sodium chloride W/V Ph.Eur solution which is designed for eye and wound irrigation. This was also recommended by my optician as she felt that it could be better for my sensitive eyes as there was no buffering. I comes in the form of 20 ml plastic pods. However, I do use both from time to time without any ill effects as a result of the buffering in the Sauflon solution. My lenses are oxygen permeable mini-scieral lenses., which have to be filled with the solution as they are placed on the eye .
