JURASSIC TRILOGY BLURAY
Let us never forget the debt we cinema lovers owe to Spielberg and "JURASSIC PARK" The plot. The human emotions. The action/suspense. The CGI. The Music...and Neill/Dern/Goldblum and our "Dickie" Scottish accent and all (or not). The BLURAY is excellent (what the HD must be like is almost unimaginable) - great picture, sound and subtitles. This applies to the 2 sequels here, particularly No 2 which benefits from Julianne Moore. This lovely set should be in everyone's collection. Highly recomended even if you have the DVDs.

THE ORIGINAL STEVEN SPIELBRG JURASSIC TRILOGY - UPGRADED TO 4K.
Been quite a while since last watching this one, however, because my memory of first seeing this was simply 'WOW' because of its simply amazing special-effects at that time (of course, today's CGI is out of this World) I felt owning the trilogy on 4k a worthwhile investment. The story tells of how wealthy businessman John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) invites Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) a mathematician and chaos theorist, Dr Alan Grant (Sam Neill) a palaeontologist and paleobotanist Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) to visit Isla Nublar where he has developed an intended visitor park he's named Jurassic Park, in doing so they are faced with sights that simply take their breath away Dinosaurs over 60 million years after becoming extinct. They are also told that behind electric fencing they have a Tyrannosaurus Rex as well as velociraptors. Before the tour, they are joined by John Hammond's grandchildren.Ho>wever, there is trouble brewing when computer whiz Nedry shuts down all the sites power to enable him to steal DNA samples to pass on for great financial rewards, this happens during the tour shutting down the power-controlled vehicles Ian, Alan, Sarah and John's grandchildren were travelling in.....theelectric fencing disabled releases the carnivores, it becomes a battle for survival.A superb first movie in the franchise, have to say I was impressed with the 4k upgrade which I award a 9/10In the second we see John Hammond approaching Ian along withNick Van Owen (Vince Vaughn) An experienced "documentarian", photojournalist and environmentalist.with a few support staff to travel to Isla an island where though abandoned in his effort to create a Jurassic tourist park does have a thriving Dinosaur population he wants a team to document and write of them in the hope of preserving their independence. At first Ian who had seen enough of Dinosaurs refuses but when told that his girlfriend Dr Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore) was already there, Ian agrees to go.Meanwhile, John's nephew Peter Ludlow who had in the wake of an attack on an employee's daughter by dino's on the Island seized control of John's company InGen, and as the company begins to fail plans to open a Jurassic Zoo in San Diego, to do so he'll take a large team to the Island with experience of capturing large animals to do so.The two parties will cross paths, Ian's will try to save the dinosaurs from capture, Peter's will endeavour to imprison as many as possible to ship back to San Diego. The Dinosaurs have their own agenda, kill and eat as many humans as they can hunt down.During an? attack on Ian's party their vehicle is pushed to a cliff edge by a T.Rex, one of the team try to winch the occupants to safety, however, it's Peter's team that'll save the day.San Diego residents have a scare on the way, can anyone save the day?An exciting follow-up to Jurassic Park with even more Dinosaurs on display and plenty of ''Bite''Sadly in this case the 4k update doesn't really come off, in the main little difference in terms of definition to the Blu-ray version, though it does have its moments.....,Quality of 4k upgrade 7/10.In this the third in the franchise, we see the return of Dr Alan Grant who with his assistant Billy Brennan (Alessandro Nivola) are invited as guides to join supposedly wealthy tycoon/ businessman Paul Kirby (William H Macy) and his wife/former Amanda (T'ea Leoni) on a flight to tour the Island of Isla Sorna to describe and tell of the Dinosaurs they might see whilst flying low over the Island, the Doctor is reluctant to go anywhere near live Dinosaurs again after his Jurassic Park experience, however, with an offer of funding toward his projects he accepts. What the Kirby's hadn't told Alan was that 8 weeks ago their son Eric (Trevor Morgan) had whilst parasailing by the Island with Amanda's current boyfriend gone missing, and their intent against the agreement was to land on the Island to search. When landing on the Island they were almost immediately confronted with a Spinosaurus, they attempted to take off but ended-up crashing, they had now become stranded on the Island.Though reluctant, the Doctor with only survival in mind joins the search for the missing boy. They soon encounter fierce Dinosaurs including a T.Rex and become separated, Alan on his own will be surrounded by Velociraptors, however, he is saved by the resourceful young Eric who appears on the scene. With the family reunited trying to reach safety is the aim, however with predators on their trail including Pteranodons escape seems unlikely....will the five survive?A more enjoyable and tense watch than I remembered it to be, the 4k upgrade is as with the first in the series very good - upgrade rating 9/10.

Fantastic
I have these films in standard DVD format, so I thought an upgrade would be a good idea. I bought this box-set with high expectations. I personally hate films that do not fill the TV screen, but these filled my 55 inch 4K TV - and wow!... all three films are fantastic, and the sound through my sound-bar was exceptional. Of course these will play in a standard Blu-ray player, but you you need a 4K TV to get the best out of them. For those that have never seen these these films before (can't be many out there) get ready for a heck of a ride, great entertainment.
