A beautiful, inspirational book
One of the best yoga books around with all of the most common poses for restorative Iyengar yoga. Also has prescriptions or series of yoga poses for various conditions. Beautiful photos which illustrate the poses from all angles. Iyengar is probably the easiest yoga because its approach is to heal and therefore uses a lot of props to enable anyone to do yoga.

Excellent features!
This book provides very comprehensive descriptions of 23 classic asanas, with a series of color photos for each pose from a 360 degree perspective. It also has a lengthy section on poses for specific ailments. The focus in this text, as with Iyengar's teachings, is on the details of correct form, thus avoiding disuse or injury to the body. If you have been taking yoga classes by video, or with an instructor leading at the front of the room instead of coaching you by your side, then you will find as I have that you have many harmful habits. This book will help to show you how to correct those and get so much more out of your yoga practice.

Amazingly comprehensive book
This is an awesome book! I'm not a professional yogi or anything, but I've been taking it for a few years. This book is a MUST HAVE for anyone looking for poses to help with certain health conditions or improvements. What is amazing is they give you like 21 poses to do, not just 3 or 4. This man is the total guru. If you're going to have one yoga bible, this one is it. This is the real deal and is a great book for anyone who loves yoga. It is so helpful. I will treasure this book for years to come.

Great book, it was not in the condition I ...
Great book, it was not in the condition I expected. Dust jacket is ripped and it had more wear and tear than described. It still has great info, though.

Yoga book
I love this book. Yoga is a great part of my life. One of my children that does yoga was so taken by this book, I ordered onefor their family. When I take yoga classes and the instructors will mention what this move is good for, and what this other move is good for, by the time I go home, it is all gone. This book is there to tell you what kind of moves they are good forand it is there on my coffee table so I refer to it often. You can pick and choose yoga move when you are home, on the roador just to be informative.

The yoga book I cannot live without
My first go-to book. This book is my yoga bible, and is an essential part of my yoga teacher library. I've had to replace it three times, because it's the one yoga book I cannot live without. Easy to follow written explanations and some of the best photo depictions of the asanas. An excellent guide to yoga. A MUST HAVE for anyone who is a serious practitioner or teacher, regardless of what school of yoga you come from.

wonderful
I love this book, 10 years ago I found a copy at my library, and it literally changed my life, and can't say enough about it. Its an excellent introduction to yoga, and allowed me to start my own practice in my own home for free. The chronic pain and migraines I had been experiencing for several years started to disappear after only two weeks of following the upper back and neck routines. Nothing else had even a fraction of that effect, except weekly massage, which becomes too expensive. I highly recommend this book to anyone thinking of starting to do yoga on their own.
